A little about me
I'm a dreamer, a dancer, a feeler, and an experimenter who connects with the camera, motion, and emotion. I strive to see (and show) beyond what is visible and create unique realms- reflections of our inner psyche and Mother Nature.

I’m Maria
I am a Southern California native who loves animals, plants, the sky, the oceans, and the mountains. Creating art is joyful, challenging, and centering.

Relationship with nature
Since I was very young, growing up in the suburbs, I remember spending hours in the backyard. One day, as a young girl, I have a memory of digging through the Earth with a soup spoon. I was surprised to see the many colors of Earth—reds, yellows, specs of greens—all gleaming within this small hole dug in a random part of the yard. This observation opened my eyes to a beautiful gift of the lifelong love for the multitude of colors created by the Earth.

For over 20 years, I've specialized in portraiture, live music, and lifestyle photography. Through my photographic travels, I've found the excitement of trusting the outcome and of the camera's unique ability to capture light, subject, movement, and time—all in one frame.

Interesting Fact
In 2020, I founded Sage Spirit Farm, a not-for-profit, urban sanctuary dedicated to protecting the currently very trendy and sadly threatened plant—White Sage/Salvia Apiana. Aside from caretaking the farm, and educating others about relating with the plant, I work with local indigenous groups to ensure its preservation.
